When do Boston puppies' ears stand up straight?

Boston terrier puppies are born with floppy ears, but by 16 to 18 weeks they will begin to have more structure and eventually stand up straight, giving them the famous and adorable Boston Terrier look. Occasionally, some Boston puppy ears will take up to 6 months to 1 year to stand up straight.

What age is best for starting puppy socialization?

We socialize our puppies with our family very early. They are carefully handled by the adults and children in our family, and they get lots of snuggles and play time with everyone up until they leave our home.

We caution against contact with other dogs (or locations other dogs may frequent) until the puppies are fully vaccinated at 16 weeks of age to ensure they stay healthy.

What kind of space do Bostons need?

Being a small breed, Bostons can do well in relatively small spaces. They need protection from extreme heat and extreme cold, so they do not do well as a full-time outdoor dog. They enjoy daily walks as well as the companionship of humans. 

Do our Bostons have docked tails or cropped ears?

No, we do not have their tails docked or ears cropped. Our Boston puppies are born with naturally short tails. Their tails may be straight, corkscrewed, or bent.
